Turn on Google and Microsoft sign-in

Register CloseDesk with Google and Microsoft and paste the keys in.

Every CloseDesk install needs its own app registered with Google and with Microsoft, because they only send people back to the exact address registered.

1. Copy the redirect URI

Open System → Sign in with Google and Microsoft (in /admin on closedesk.in; in Settings → System on your own install) and copy the Redirect URI. On closedesk.in it is https://closedesk.in/oauth.php.

2. Google

  1. In the Google Cloud console create a project, then set up the OAuth consent screen: app name, support email, your domain and the links to your privacy and terms pages. Audience External; scopes openid, email, profile. Publish the app.
  2. Credentials → Create credentials → OAuth client ID, type Web application. Add your site as an authorised JavaScript origin and the redirect URI as an authorised redirect URI.
  3. Paste the Client ID and Client secret into CloseDesk, tick Show "Sign in with Google" and press Save Google.

3. Microsoft

  1. In Microsoft Entra, App registrations → New registration. Choose who can sign in (any organisation and personal accounts for a service; only your organisation for your own staff) and add the redirect URI as platform Web.
  2. Copy the Application (client) ID. Under Certificates & secrets make a client secret and copy its Value. Put a reminder in your calendar before it expires.
  3. Paste both into CloseDesk, set Who can sign in (common, organizations, consumers or your tenant), tick Show "Sign in with Microsoft" and press Save Microsoft.

Passwords keep working for everyone. Platform admins sign in to /admin with a password only.
