Security checks and sign-in policy

Run the account’s security checks and require two-factor sign-in.

Run the checks

  1. Open Security checks under Audit in the menu.
  2. Problems come first. Open any check to see why it matters, what to do and who it is about.
  3. Press Run checks again after fixing something, and Download CSV for your audit file.

The checks cover: the two-factor policy and who has it on, password strength and age, starting passwords still in use, people who don’t sign in, how many admins there are, failed sign-ins, sign-ins from many places, segregation of duties (one person holding every role in an area), independent system auditors, company backups and system health.

Set the sign-in policy (admins)

  1. On Security checks, find Sign-in policy.
  2. Under Two-factor sign-in, choose off, required for admins, or required for everyone.
  3. Set Shortest new password and press Save policy.

Turn on two-factor sign-in for yourself first, so your own rule doesn’t lock you out. People the rule covers are asked to set it up the next time they open CloseDesk. A new minimum length applies to passwords set from then on.
