CloseDesk takes a backup of each company every day it changes and keeps the last 7. You can take one by hand before a big change.
What a backup holds
One company’s closes, tasks and sign-offs, comments, attachments, invoices and GSTR-2B, parties, chart of accounts and trial balances, roles, calendar and templates. People, sign-ins, your plan and the audit log belong to the whole account and are not part of it.
Take or download a backup
- Go to Settings → Backups (admins). It shows the current company.
- Press Back up now.
- Download gives you a zip with every record and the attachments, to keep yourself.
Restore
- On the backup you want, press Restore….
- Read the warning: everything in that company goes back to that moment, and work done since is taken out. CloseDesk keeps a safety copy first.
- Type the company’s name to confirm and press Restore this backup.
Restoring is recorded in the audit log. Other companies are not touched.
For platform admins
In /admin → Backups, you can back up or restore one company of a customer account when they ask for help. You see when each backup was taken and its size, never its contents. Customers see your actions in their audit log as “CloseDesk support”, so tell them before you restore.
